Reiki Classes: Change for Life
Learn the basics of energy healing and how to create a soul-to-soul connection with animals.
Taking a class in Reiki may be the single best gift you can give yourself or your loved ones, whether they walk on two legs or four, swim or fly. The ability to facilitate Reiki is the gift that keeps on giving, it is easy to learn, and offers a lifetime of benefits. Imagine being able to accelerate healing when sick, being able to relieve the pain of an injury, heal feelings of anger, fear, grief, or decrease discomfort after surgery!
Classes are taught by Animal Reiki Shaman Rose De Dan, pioneer in energy healing for animals, at Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing’s home office in Alki.

I am often asked if there are books on Reiki that I would recommend an aspiring student read before taking a Reiki class, and my answer is that no prior knowledge is required for Reiki Level I, the beginning class.
However, if you are curious, there are some you might find of interest. I have certainly not read every book available today on Reiki, the sheer quantity of books published now is astounding. In the course of my years as a teacher of Reiki since 1996, these are a few of the books that I recommend to my students. To see more details about each book you can click on the book image below.
Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life is an excellent read for the animal Reiki stories, which students of all levels, beginning to advanced will find inspirational and validating.
While Coyote Healing: Miracles in Native Medicine is not a book specifically on Reiki, being written by a Native American shaman and M.D., I consider it a “must” for anyone who wants to understand the basic principles of healing, and I recommend it to all my Reiki students.
The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui brings some of the Japanese practices of Reiki back into the system, such as breathwork. Offers some session protocols for specific conditions.
Reiki: The Essential Guide to the Ancient Healing Art is written by two Alliance Reiki masters and features the original Usui Method as taught in this country, and contains content closest to Reiki as I originally learned it.
Reiki Energy Medicine was one of the first books published concerning demonstrating the role of Reiki in mainstream healthcare settings such hospitals. Authors Libby Barnett and Maggie Chambers have trained physicians, psychotherapists, nurses, psychologists, and hospice staff, and have led classes at teaching hospitals throughout the United States.
This is a must-have, The Reiki Sourcebook covers the most up-to-date information on Reiki history, different branches and practices of Reiki, internet resources, etc. and is unbiased, clearing up some of the conflicting information you hear about Reiki. Presently there is no other book like it.
The Japanese Art of Reiki: A Practical Guide to Self-Healing is the first book to bring an awareness of the original Japanese perspective on Reiki. American Reiki has evolved differently, this book offers practical steps to incorporating Japanese practices into daily life.
Tails of a Healer: Animals, Reiki and Shamanism: I may be just a teensy bit prejudiced here since I am the author of Tails of a Healer: Animals, Reiki & Shamanism, but I recommend it to anyone interested in the development of an individual healer, the stories of the animals I met, and what they taught me along the way about myself and energy healing.
In Tapestry of Healing Dr. Jeri Mills recounts her journey as a physician, veterinarian, and Reiki Master Teacher as she creates a marriage of Western medicine and Reiki.
