Audio Whale Teachers #2: The Orcas

Experience the wisdom and healing energy of the Orcas

In 2014 I went in ceremony to the whales (see Whale Watching the Shamanic Way), and in 2015 I received a strong call to bring more people to them in shamanic ceremony by connecting in-person via whale watching tours, and with storytelling and shamanic journey for messages and healing afterward.

The second event of the series was meeting with the Orcas. (Our first event was with the Gray Whales and our third was with the Humpback Whales and Southern-resident Orcas.)

Orcas are commonly referred to as “killer whales,” and the Pacific Northwest is fortunate to host both southern resident orcas (listed as endangered and currently protected under the Endangered Species Act) and transients. The southern residents hunt salmon, while the transient orcas hunt marine mammals such as harbor seals.

On this particular trip we connected with a family (pod) of transient Orcas which included two babies!

There is a now famous photo of a mother Orca and her calf taken from a different boat at the same time that we were there to meet the Orcas in ceremony. The photo became famous because the behavior it depicts is rarely witnessed. That was only one small instance of the amazing events that transpired during our time with the Orcas. They called, we answered, and they showed up big time!

There were many amazing messages shared during our time with them in-person, and during the call and shamanic journey afterward. Since the Orcas wish to reach as many people as possible, those experiences are now available as an audio recording.

Rose De Dan is an animal communicator, Reiki Master Teacher, shamanic practitioner, and author based in Seattle, WA. She has been teaching classes since 1996 and has a wealth of stories and guidance on energy healing for animals and people that she shares with her students.

In 1996, while living in Worcester, Mass., she had a life-changing experience during a Reiki class and was gifted with a vision of a healing practice for animals. In pursuing that vision, Rose began to remember her childhood dreams and passion to help animals.

In the process of becoming an energy healer, animal shaman, and voice for the animals, Rose found her practice evolving into building bridges between people and domestic and wild animals. She has been bringing people and animals together in ceremony to co-create a sustainable future since 1998 through events such as A Walk on the Wild Side: Answering the Call of the Wild.
