Calling All Cat Food Angels

Hello Cat Food Angels and Cat-Food-Angels-to-be, I am asking for help for foster cats Sadiya and Noctua. While they are technically the responsibility of Red Rose Animal Rescue, this mother-daughter duo has been supported with food donated by my community since they first arrived in my home two years ago due to needing the highest human-grade quality food possible which the rescue could not afford (see below for their story).

My initial request on Facebook received a response from a few folks who have been consistent donors since the beginning, but I wanted to offer the opportunity to a wider audience to take some of that burden off their shoulders. If you would like to offer mom Noctua (tortie) and Sadiya (black) some of the taste sensations they so enjoy, I invite you to check out their foster cat Wish List. They are also in need of a new scratcher, the old one is worn to the nubbins.

Noctua also needs a new bottle of CBD Oil which helps keep her eyes and sinus clear. If anyone is willing to donate that, email me, and I can send the link for purchase and supply shipping address.

To date, no one has come forward in response to their adoption post on Petfinder. While they are easy to care for, it is past time for them to have the run of a loving home with many sunny windows for bird watching and the opportunity to interact fully with a loving human partner rather than the single room where they currently live and visits 4x daily from me (although they do love their Reiki, as you can see in the video below). Not sure if I can find them a forever home with Reiki on tap, but I’ve put it out there. Perhaps I could offer a discount on classes to the person who adopts them…

I have asked the rescue to feature them on social media to find their forever home, but the sad truth is that shelters are overwhelmed right now with kittens and puppies. It is a hard time of year to try to get two adult cats adopted as a bonded pair, especially when they need special TLC to allow their beautiful personalities to shine. If you know of anyone in the Seattle area who might be interested, they can fill out the Red Rose Animal Rescue application.

Noctua is coming along in her socialization. She is starting to allow me to brush her while she eats, while Sadiya has become a total slave to the brush, lol (video to come). And her coat is VERY glossy from the fish oil supplement that she needs for her dry skin—she could be a show cat! I look at them both and remember how they looked when we first met—both were skeletal with almost no fur due to starvation, and they were more feral than semi-feral.

Another huge “thank you” to everyone who has donated good food, beds, and toys to their care over the last 2+ years. Their quality of life and sleek glossy fur are possible because of your kind gifts!

THEIR STORY
If you are not familiar with their story: petite black cat Sadiya and her beautiful tortie mom, Noctua, were among the 38 brave feline survivors rescued from a hoarding situation by Red Rose Animal Rescue. Emaciated, malnourished, and terrified, their journey from the brink of death to playful companions has been nothing short of miraculous. Click here to see videos of their progress.
