Reiki to the Rescue for a Moth
Last night, Night Sky came in from the catio looking guilty. I knew that meant he had a live moth in his mouth. He likes to bring them in, release them, and catch them again. Fortunately, I was able to get him to spit the moth out.
I could feel the moth struggling in my loosely closed hand, and offered Reiki, which he agreed to accept. He stopped struggling and was still for a moment after I reached outside and opened my hand.
I felt the flow of Reiki and something else. A vibration that tickled the palm of my hand. I asked Moth what he was doing, and he said he needed to flutter and pump his wings so that they could dry out which made total sense since he’d just been in a damp cat mouth.
So that’s how we spent the next few minutes until he was able to take flight. Not sure if he will regain full ability, but at least Reiki energy healing offered him a chance.
This morning I asked Night Sky to pose for his portrait, and he cooperated very nicely, I must say!
If you would like to learn how to offer Reiki for animals and people (or would like a refresher), I teach a virtual, live, six-week Reiki Level 1 class, and the next one starts October 13.
