Manitou Makes The Big Time, And My Photos Are On Shutterstock!

Manitou Makes the Big Time, and My Photos are on Shutterstock!

Wow, some of my photos were just accepted into Shutterstock! It’s a big deal for me since they are the largest U.S. stock photo company, and LOTS of professional photographers submit to them.

However, I am not a professional photographer. I am an energy healer/communicator and animal shaman. I blend those skills with my photography to help further spread the messages and stories of the animals. My camera and I are partners—I connect and frame the shot, it figures out the details, lol.

I was psyched this morning when I found out that out of the 20 photos I submitted, nine were selected! One of them was of my cat, Manitou (pictured). Proof positive that he is as handsome as I think he is! In the past, when paying his bills and buying his high quality food, I’ve always joked that he needed to get a job—well, perhaps now he has one.

It was only after being approved that I found an article that says that most photographers are rejected the first time around. And the advice is to not submit photos of flowers, cats and water drops as they already have plenty of those, thank you very much. Three of my images that were selected were of a lilac blossom, cat, and rain drops on a spider and her web. Had I known about the challenges, I might never have submitted any images at all. In this case, I guess ignorance definitely was bliss!

More of my animal and nature photos can be found on my profile at FineArt America, where you can purchase wall prints, mugs, tote bags and more.
