Video: Bugling Elk at Yellowstone

It was October 6, 2015, and we were leaving the north end of the park as twilight approached, at the end of our first incredible day of carrying the Buffalo Blanket in ceremony to all the wildlife in Yellowstone.

When we saw the elk we pulled over to the opposite side of the road. I was captivated by this magnificent bull elk who was whacking the heck out of a shrub with his antlers in preparation for answering the vocal challenge of a rival bull.

I switched from camera to video when the bull began to bugle. After watching the clip back afterward I decided to leave the discordant part at the end. It puts into context what all wildlife in the park experience while going about their daily business of living.
