Part of my excitement is because the class is open to anyone who loves animals and wants to understand them better; no prior experience with horses, healing energy or animal communication is required. That means everyone can do this, and in so doing, assist in shifting the world’s perception of animals in a positive way. And to me, that is the most exciting work that anyone can be a part of!
Additionally, the workshop brings together three sets of teachers/healers for the very first time: myself, Rose De Dan (animal communication/Reiki/shamanism), Peggy Gilmer, (leadership and self mastery coach) and a herd of Horse Teachers who are dedicated to helping humans become the best partners and leaders they can be.
Peggy Gilmer says, “Horses are wired such that their thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations and connection to the infinite are experienced simultaneously; they are always in the present moment. Since they have no filters, their responses to their human partners are immediate, totally honest and without judgment. Reveling in healing energy and ceremonial space, horses can mirror our experience to let us know how connected we are.”
For this workshop not only are the horses bringing their own unique equine skill set (deserving of equal billing with the human teachers), but these particular Horse Teachers also have a great many years of collective experience in working with people. In short, they are very adept at what they do. So, I felt it important to honor a few of them with bios (supplied by Peggy, who knows them best) of their own.
MEET the HORSE TEACHERS
Kind, loving, sensitive, moves like molasses. As every southern woman will attest, “There’s no need to perspire…ever.” There’s depth to this mare, wisdom, born of a kind heart. Her mother is a well-known and gifted therapy horse in Canada.
“My Mirror…My Challenge”
Tennessee Walking Horse Mare
Complex, sensitive, wise, and headstrong, she has a deeply loving side and because of her independent nature you have to earn it.
Rescued from starvation and neglect two years ago, Willow is a playful, eager learner. A loving, speed racer that never saw the track, Willow can go from calm to explosive to calm in three seconds. Teaches herself by watching the other horses.
Quick, smart, playful – a tease. The baby of the herd, Dewey is all about fun and pushing boundaries. (Note: here Dewey is grazing OUTSIDE the corral.)
