Tune in Saturday, July 10th on 94.9 FM when local public radio station KUOW Presents “Reiki Healing for the Duwamish” between 12-2 pm. Local Reiki Master Eileen Dey will talk about Reiki and the six-part series of Blessing Ceremonies for the Duwamish River that she was inspired to organize, and there will be audio clips from the third ceremony on June 25th.
At that ceremony, I led the group in singing the Pachamama Song (in Quechua), ably assisted by Leslie Britt, the one other mesa carrier who knew the words. In listening to the clip I was amazed at how much better we all sounded on the recording than what I could hear at the time. However, I don’t think I will be appearing on America’s Got Talent as a singer any time soon!
Also on the recording are Sha’ari Garfinkel, whose Native American flute playing was serenely powerful and gathered a flock of geese and ducks, and the final blessing, led by Eileen Dey.
If you miss the live broadcast, it is available by podcast here.
Can’t wait for the live broadcast? Participant and photographer Paul Taylor put together a beautiful video montage of the June 25th ceremony which brought together people from different Reiki, shamanic, sound and other healing lineages as well as the general public
Due to a teaching commitment I will probably not be able to attend the next in the series of six blessings, July 25th, 7-8pm, but everyone is invited to attend. Come lend your support and energy for healing the Duwamish River!
